Experiencing THON for the first time is a thrill for York dancers

The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately known as THON, is an unforgettable experience for anyone who attends. For Penn State York students, Hunter Beck, 18; Shawnee Hostetter, 20; and Ryan Manganello, 18; not only will THON 2017 mark their first attendance at the event, it will also provide the opportunity for them to dance.

Underground Railroad program rescheduled due to expected inclement weather

Learn more about Pennsylvania’s Underground Railroads when Lenwood O. Sloan, artist and historian, visits Penn State York at noon on Feb. 23 in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center. This free program, sponsored by the Penn State York Diversity Committee in celebration of Black History Month, is open to the public.

Speaker to discuss media fan participation in the Internet Era

"Free Fan Labor! The Work of Fandom in the Internet Era," will be the topic when Mel Stanfill, a faculty member at the University of Central Florida, speaks at noon on Feb. 16 at Penn State York. The program, in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Student Community Center, is free and open to the public.

More than 500 attend robotics competition at Penn State York

Robots were in action on Jan. 21. at Penn State York when 35 teams of middle- and high-school students took part in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) South Central Pennsylvania Regional Qualifier, a robotics competition. The winning alliance, comprised of three teams, included the Javengers from Enola, Pennsylvania; Cubix^3 from Hampstead, Maryland; and Sparks from Villanova, Pennsylvania.
