The Office for General Education has announced this year’s seed grants to support the development of Integrative Studies courses. The awarded proposals are representative of a wide range of academic disciplines, and include proposals from faculty at Penn State campuses across the Commonwealth.
The Penn Players will present the one-act farce “The 9 Worst Breakups of All Time,” by Ian McWethy, at 6 p.m. April 18 and 19 in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at Penn State York. The performances are free and open to the public, and tickets are not required.
Penn State York’s honored its student-athletes and coaches at the campus' annual Athletic Awards Banquet, held Thursday, April 11, on the stage of the campus' Pullo Family Performing Arts Center. Following a 6 p.m. dinner, members of each athletic team were introduced, coaches provided highlights of the season, and awards were presented.
A fashion show highlighting the traditional dress from many cultures, food samples, exhibits, and presentations will all be a part of Penn State York’s 20th annual Unity Day celebration, set for noon to 1:30 p.m. April 19 in the Conference Center of the Main Classroom Building.
Penn State York Chancellor David W. Chown plans to retire as chancellor of Penn State York effective Aug. 1. Chown has served the campus and Penn State for a little more than five years.
Penn State York will take on Penn State Mont Alto in a single, nine-inning baseball game beginning at 1 p.m. April 22. The matchup was originally scheduled as two, seven-inning games, but due to scheduling issues because of extended inclement weather this spring, it has been decided that this will be a single game. The game is free and open to the public.
Registration is now underway for summer sessions at Penn State York. Two six-week sessions offer students the opportunity to take day, evening or online classes. Some classes also may combine online with face-to-face instruction.
Don’t miss the crack of the bats — catch the Penn State York baseball team in action on Sunday, April 22, when they take to the field at PeoplesBank Park, home of the York Revolution. This doubleheader, at 1 and 3 p.m. against Penn State Mont Alto, is free and open to the public.
Penn State York honors the academic achievements and service of its outstanding students, faculty and staff for the 2017-18 year at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, during the 47th annual Academic Awards Ceremony. The event will take place at Heritage Hills Golf Resort, 2700 Mt. Rose Ave., York, Pennsylvania. More than 80 academic and service awards will be presented during the program.
