Tickets are on sale now for Penn State York Benefiting THON’s "Paw Search," which is set for 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus. Proceeds from the talent show go to the campus THON committee's effort to raise money to find a cure for pediatric cancer through the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.
Velocity Vortex is the name of the game when 36 teams of middle and high school students from across Pennsylvania and Maryland take part in the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) South Central PA Regional Qualifier, robotics competition, on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 7 a.m.-5:15 p.m. at Penn State York.
Penn State York Benefiting THON is partnering with the American Red Cross for a THON Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Penn State York. The blood drive, in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center, is open to the public. The American Red Cross will make a monetary donation to THON for each unit donated.
Auditions for Penn State York Benefiting THON’s Paw Search are set for 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in the rehearsal room of the Pullo Family Preforming Arts Center on campus. This is the final opportunity to do a live audition for the show, which is schedule for Friday evening, Jan. 20, in The Pullo Center.
“Believe in yourself and what you have to contribute to the world.” That’s advice from Ginia M. Moorehead, who will cross the stage of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at Penn State York on Friday, Dec. 16, and receive a bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies.
Snoopy, dinosaurs, Ninja Turtles, Barbies, aircraft, and a variety of stuffed animals were gathered at Penn State York during the Toys for Tots campaign sponsored by the Student Veterans of America (SVA), York Chapter at the campus. Hundreds of new, unopened, and unwrapped toys were collected through Dec. 9, and then turned over to the First Capital Marine Corps League Toys for Tots program.
