Penn State York Benefiting THON raises more than $13,000

YORK, Pa. — Penn State York Benefiting THON took part in THON 2018, Feb. 16 to 18 at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus, and raised $13,887.33. The THON total, combining all fundraising efforts from throughout the University, was $10,151.663.93. The funds raised by THON are used to cover the treatment costs for pediatric cancer patients as well as support cancer research. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital.

York students Casey Dierdorff, Paulina Martinez and Thalia Splawn put on their dancing shoes to represent the campus. A group of about 24 York students traveled to THON to take part in the weekend of activities and support all those dancing For The Kids. The theme for THON 2018 was “Discovering Tomorrow’s Wonder.”
