Rainbow Paws, the LBGTQ+ Club at Penn State York, is sponsoring a book club on campus and has selected “Symptoms of Being Human,” as their first book to read and discuss. Students have until April 9 to sign-up to receive the book and then take part in a Zoom discussion on April 27.
The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, in collaboration with partners around Penn State, will be celebrating Pride Month throughout April with a variety of programming for the University community across the University's campuses.
Penn State Laureate David Witwer will share his signature presentation, “Searching for Jimmy Hoffa: The Disappearance of America’s Most Notorious Labor Leader and Why It Still Matters Today,” during a Zoom presentation for the Penn State York community beginning at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, March 19.
Moved by the George Floyd tragedy and racial unrest in 2020, leaders in the Penn State York SGA wanted to find a way to bring students together to have safe and critical conversations about how to be an antiracist. The book club was born out of this idea, and a decision was made to provide a free copy of the book, “How to Be an Antiracist,” to interested students.
There is still time to nominate faculty for the 2020-21 Penn State York Advising Award. Students may submit nominations for the award, which is presented at the Academic Awards Program in April of each year.
Penn State York is offering a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam review for engineers planning to take the FE exam. The review course begins March 30 and will be delivered via Zoom.
As of March 1 (the conclusion of the universal required re-testing period), the University is conducting random testing of between 1% and 2% of the University’s population of students and employees living, learning or working on campus as well as those who access campus.
Penn State York in partnership with Penn State DuBois is offering Basic Grant Writing, a six-week webinar beginning April 5. The program is designed to help participants hone their grant-writing skills.
Penn State University Libraries invites creative Penn State students, faculty and staff to submit their best circus-themed creative writing to the short stories “A Night at the Circus”-themed writing contest, open for submissions Monday, March 1, through Friday, April 2.
