More than 200 seventh grade girls will explore all things STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) during the 23rd annual Pathways to Your Future: Exploring STEAM Careers program on Friday, May 10 at Penn State York. The program offers 30 workshops, and is free.
Jessica Popp gained a love of research during her pursuit of a degree in human development and family studies at Penn State York. Popp will reach her goal as she graduates during Penn State York's 49th commencement at 6 p.m. on May 3.
For the second time, Joan Smeltzer, assistant teaching professor of mathematics at Penn State York, has been honored with the Teresa Cohen Mathematics Service Award.
Penn State York will celebrate its 49th annual spring commencement at 6 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center on campus. The campus will continue its open microphone tradition of allowing students to speak for a moment at the ceremony.
A groundbreaking ceremony set for 1 p.m. April 17 signals the beginning of a construction project to build the Graham Center for Innovation and Collaboration at Penn State York. "The Graham Center for Collaboration and Innovation will transform the Penn State York campus. It will provide a permanent home for our growing Graham Fellows program and allow the campus to offer new entrepreneurial leadership programs open to every student on our campus,” said David Christiansen, chancellor of Penn State York.
Penn State York’s Adult Learner Open House is designed to assist adults in exploring educational opportunities available at the campus whether they are taking college classes for the first time or returning to the classroom for professional development. The free event is set from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on campus. RSVP is helpful but not required.
Achievements of outstanding students, faculty and staff for the 2018-19 academic year will be recognized during the 48th annual Penn State York Awards Ceremony set for 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, with awards being presented beginning at 2:30 p.m. The event will take place at Heritage Hills Golf Resort, 2700 Mt. Rose Ave., York, Pennsylvania. More than 80 awards will be presented during the program.
Penn State York students in the human development and family studies program will be conducting research and helping at stations during the second annual Diabetes Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, on campus.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018-19 Penn State York Advising Award. Students may submit nominations for the award, which is presented annually at the Academic Awards Program in April.
