Penn State York will be the university of choice in south-central Pennsylvania, committed to excellence, with a passion for creating knowledge and educating students to be leaders for a better tomorrow.
Established in 1949 as a permanent facility, Penn State York is a campus of the Pennsylvania State University, a public university that educates students from the state, the nation, and the world. Our integrated programs of teaching, research and service create a vibrant learning environment in which we nurture the well-being and health of individuals and communities.
Our instructional mission includes undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education. Penn State York is an educational destination as well as a portal to other Penn State campuses. We offer degree programs to traditional and adult learners. In addition, the campus is a focus for career-related education, technology transfer, and economic development initiatives. Our educational programs are enriched by award-winning faculty and staff whose knowledge, diversity, and creativity positively influence student learning and personal development on a daily basis.
As Pennsylvania’s land-grant University in York, we provide local access to the resources of a public Big Ten research university to support the citizens of the Commonwealth. We are a community of scholars dedicated to advancing knowledge in the natural and applied sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, and the professions. Our teaching, research, and creative activity promote civic, social, economic, and cultural growth throughout the community.
Penn State York values diversity and strives to appreciate the differences among us. We believe that creating a climate that promotes intergroup understanding within our diverse population is beneficial not only to the individual but also to the campus community.
