The Pullo Center continues spring season with four upcoming shows

Spring entertainment includes ticketed and free programs

YORK, Pa. — A variety of entertainment, including "The Greatest Love of All – A Tribute to Whitney Houston," the ninth annual "Profiles in Music: A Drum and Bugle Corps Showcase," "Andrew McCarthy Live," and "ENCORE," a York County high school musical theater showcase, are all part of the spring lineup at the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) at Penn State York. "The Greatest Love of All: A Tribute to Whitney Houston" comes to The Pullo Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7. Houston’s musical legacy is brought to life in this critically acclaimed stage show described as “mind-blowingly spot on.” Featuring the breathtaking vocals of Belinda Davids, with the accompaniment of a live band, backing vocalists and choreographed dancers, the show is a beautifully crafted tribute to one of the world's most revered singers. State-of-the-art sound, lighting and theatrical effects make this performance a must-see.

"The Greatest Love of All" has already wowed audiences across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and has garnered glowing reviews worldwide.

This show is not affiliated with the estate of Whitney Houston.

"Andrew McCarthy Live," with a screening of “Weekend at Bernie’s,” is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at The Pullo Center at Penn State York. McCarthy is a director, award-winning travel writer and actor.

April brings "Andrew McCarthy Live" with a screening of “Weekend at Bernie’s” to The Pullo Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2. McCarthy is a director, award-winning travel writer and actor. Those who attend also will enjoy a screening of the classic film “Weekend at Bernie’s” — starring McCarthy — followed by a moderated discussion and Q&A with the audience.

In addition to “Weekend at Bernie’s,” McCarthy has appeared in dozens of movies, including “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” “The Joy Luck Club” and “Pretty in Pink.”

Tickets are $60 VIP, $39, and $28.

The ninth annual "Profiles In Music: Drum and Bugle Cops Showcase" is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, April 4. The Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps from Hanover, Pennsylvania, is hosting the event, which features drum and bugle corps from the East Coast, along with some exciting music groups, each performing a 20-minute concert. This event has sold out each of the previous eight years.

Tickets are $25 and $20.

To close out April, ENCORE, a York County high school music showcase, takes to the stage at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26. The celebration of musical theater in York County is presented annually to recognize the talent, work and accomplishments of students in each participating high school.

Local schoolswill perform selections from their spring musicals, with more than 500 students taking to the stage. Representatives from each high school will perform in a musical finale to celebrate the talent all of York County students.

Scholarships will be presented to students during the event. ENCORE is sponsored by Attorney William B. Anstine Jr., John Giambalvo and the Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships, and David and Joan Stauffer.

Tickets are $20.
