YORK, Pa. — Penn State York is offering the 15-hour Assisted Living Administrator Training required for those interested in employment as an assisted living administrator. This training is in addition to the 100-hour Personal Care Home Administrator training and exam. The two-day program is offered April 22 and 23 beginning at 8 a.m. each day. The cost is $350.

In order to attend the training, participants must be a certified Personal Care Home Administrator with the state of Pennsylvania. These hours count toward yearly CEU requirements.

Assisted living administrators manage, outline and coordinate services geared toward older adults who may require assistance with eating, bathing, taking medication, and other basic functions. They oversee the day-to-day operations of assisted living facilities and help ensure that all staff are providing the best service possible.

The 15-hour training covers topics including neurological impairments, assisted living resident composition, infection control, person centered care, and informed consent.

Penn State York is an approved provider by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
