University Park hosts the 54th annual Summer Leadership Conference August 1-3, 2018. Penn State students from across the commonwealth met for three days of intensive large and small group leadership experiences. Berks will host the 55th annual Summer Leadership August 5-7, 2019.

This spring Penn State awarded almost 14,000 diplomas to students University-wide who are completing associate, baccalaureate, master’s, law, doctoral and medical degrees, bringing the University’s number of graduates to an estimated total of more than 800,000. Many of the University's graduates received their degrees at campuses other than University Park. With the June 20 announcement of six more seed grants to Penn State campuses, the Invent Penn State initiative covers 13 locations around the Commonwealth.
Giving back to the local community was part of New Student Orientation at Penn State York. Students worked in York at Central Market, DreamWrights, the Lehman Center, Martin Library, Serenity Garden of Hope, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, York Central Market, and the York Rescue Mission.
