To help students, faculty and staff be prepared to respond to a potentially life-threatening situation, Penn State has adopted Run, Hide, Fight, replacing StaySAFE as the University’s official active-attacker response.
More than 200 Penn State York students were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, undergraduate students must maintain a 3.5 or higher grade-point average.
Wendy A. Suzuki, author and professor of neural science and psychology at New York University, will be the featured speaker for the Founders’ Lecture for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Penn State York, as OLLI celebrate its 10-year anniversary of offering lifelong learning opportunities. Penn State York will offer the 100-hour required training program for personal care home administrators beginning Sept. 28. The entire 100 hours of training is offered in a 19-session format, Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 28 to Nov. 9, on campus. The coursework includes CPR and first aid training courses.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Penn State York is welcoming Jennifer May as its new director. May will begin working alongside the outgoing director, Peggy Chown, who will be retiring at the end of September. May joins OLLI at Penn State York with nearly 20 years of experience in educational leadership, professional development, training and nonprofit management.

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by 39 men on Sept. 17, 1787, and celebrates the birthday of the government of the United States of America. Penn State York will celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, Sept. 17, with the fifth annual WE ARE the People trivia event at noon in the community room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center.
“Watch out this year because Penn State York women’s softball is about to do very big things!” That’s the word from Taylor L. Pattillo, the new women’s softball coach at the campus. Pattillo and Ron Schaeffer, the new head baseball coach on campus, are excited about the opportunity to make their programs shine.
