With Penn State’s recent announcement of the next six communities to receive seed-grant funding through its Invent Penn State initiative, the University’s economic development effort has grown to include 13 hubs for innovation spread across Pennsylvania.
This fall approximately 5,247 Penn State students will receive their diplomas. University-wide there will be 252 associate, 3,936 baccalaureate, 762 master's, 11 law and 286 doctoral degrees awarded. Snoopy, dinosaurs, Ninja Turtles, Barbies, aircraft, and a variety of stuffed animals were gathered at Penn State York during the Toys for Tots campaign sponsored by the Student Veterans of America (SVA), York Chapter at the campus. Hundreds of new, unopened, and unwrapped toys were collected through Dec. 9, and then turned over to the First Capital Marine Corps League Toys for Tots program.

Auditions for Penn State York Benefiting THON’s Paw Search are set for 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in the rehearsal room of the Pullo Family Preforming Arts Center on campus. This is the final opportunity to do a live audition for the show, which is schedule for Friday evening, Jan. 20, in The Pullo Center.
Penn State York Benefiting THON is partnering with the American Red Cross for a THON Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Penn State York. The blood drive, in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center, is open to the public. The American Red Cross will make a monetary donation to THON for each unit donated.
Velocity Vortex is the name of the game when 36 teams of middle and high school students from across Pennsylvania and Maryland take part in the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) South Central PA Regional Qualifier, robotics competition, on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 7 a.m.-5:15 p.m. at Penn State York.
Tickets are on sale now for Penn State York Benefiting THON’s "Paw Search," which is set for 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus. Proceeds from the talent show go to the campus THON committee's effort to raise money to find a cure for pediatric cancer through the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.

Magician Peter Boie will take to the stage at Penn State York’s Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Feb. 2, and showcase his sleight-of-hand skills when the campus’ free cultural series continues. The performance, which is free and open to the public, does not require tickets.
