‘Musical Thrones’ and 'Gobsmacked!' take to the stage at The Pullo Center

February brings exciting shows to Penn State York

YORK, Pa. — February brings two exciting ticketed shows to Penn State York’s Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center). “Musical Thrones: A Parody of Ice and Fire,” Feb. 11, and 'Gobsmacked!', Feb. 15, with both performances at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available.

Fans of the most-talked about show on television, “Game of Thrones,” can now get their fantasy fix live on stage with “Musical Thrones: A Parody of Ice and Fire.” Composed by the mad men behind the long-running “Silence the Musical,” Jon and Al Kaplan, “Musical Thrones” brings the most beloved and be-hated characters to life as the show journeys through seven seasons of the Emmy Award-winning “Game of Thrones” series.

Sing and dance along with Daenerys and her dragons, Tyrion, Jaime and all the jolly members of the Lannister and Stark families in this love letter to fans.

The cast will transport audience members to magical locations where bloodthirsty musical theater comics leave no joke unturned in serving up the story's notorious violence, power struggles, manipulation and sex — plus, worse yet, a ballad or two. This show is preparing for battle across North America so saddle up and come on down to King’s Landing — and hold onto your swords.

"Gobsmacked!", an a cappella and beatboxing show, comes to The Pullo Center direct from sell-out seasons in London, Hong Kong and Edinburgh. This next-generation a cappella show redefines the limits of the human voice.

Featuring the reigning world champion beatboxer Ball-Zee and an international cast of world-class vocalists, "Gobsmacked!" weaves stories through all forms of a cappella from traditional street corner harmonies to cutting edge, multi-track live looping. Heart-stopping singing and jaw-dropping beatboxing guarantees the audience will leave with a song in their hearts and a smile on their faces.

Ticket prices for “Musical Thrones; A Parody of Ice and Fire” are $49, $35 and $29, and tickets for "Gobsmacked!" Are $45, $39 and $29. Tickets can be purchased at The Pullo Center Box Office, by phone at 717-505-8900 or online.

A free show, "Nazu African Dance," part of the Penn State York Cultural Series, is set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13. No tickets are needed for this program sponsored by the Penn State York Student Affairs Office.
