Coffee with a Cop 2019 Abington

In 2019, Penn State police officers hosted in-person events for National Coffee with a Cop Day at campuses across Pennsylvania. This year, University Police will host a virtual event in order to safely stay engaged with the Penn State community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representatives from Penn State York presented books to students at Edgar Fahs Smith STEAM Academy, which includes students in kindergarten through sixth grade, during a special assembly.  Those visiting the school were, left to right, Robert Farrell, director of academic affairs.  Ann Fetterman, assistant teaching professor in English; Marissa James Dellinger, a teacher at the elementary school and a Penn State graduate; and Julianne Stealey, a Penn State York student and one of the students instrumental to the project.

Julianne Stealey, a Penn State York student and human development and family studies majors, reads the book "Not a Box" to children at Edgar Fahs Smith STEAM Academy in York, Pennsylvania.  Each child in the school received a free book thanks to a book drive spearheaded by students in English 202A last semester.

Jeff Crawford, a Penn State York student majoring in English and the editor of "Any Other Word,' encourages students to visit the online magazine and also submit works for the Literary Competition and the 11th edition of the online magazine.  The submission deadline is Oct. 31.

Members of the Penn State York women's volleyball team and coaches gather in a huddle following a recent game.  Off to the right, the jersey of Courtney Groft, No. 3, is displayed on the seat where she sat on the bench. Groft, a Penn State York student-athlete and member of the team, was killed in a car accident last year.  A fundraiser game for Gift of Life, an organ donation program, is set for Monday, Sept. 26 in her honor.

Novelist Curdella Forbes will read from her work during a presentation on Wednesday, Sept. 28 in the Precision Custom Components (PCC) Community Room in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center (The Ruhl Center) at Penn State York.
