Those who attend Diwali will have the opportunity to paint a Diya, a clay candle holder, and take it home. There will aslo be plenty of food, music, and fun.
Penn State Laureate Rebecca Strzelec will visit Penn State York Oct. 19 to talk about "Art + Engineering = Creative Problem-solving." The program will take place at noon in the rehearsal room of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center and is free and open to the public.
Penn State York Student Government Association President Michelle Lin was the final speaker before the doors were opened to the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on Oct. 12. Lin shared her excitement about the new facility and its' importance to the campus community, and especially students.

Following a resounding "We Are," more than 200 students, faculty, staff and invited guests entered the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on Oct. 12. The building, which boasts a $13.5 million renovation and addition, provides the campus community with new food service, fitness center, study space, offices and more.
During the course of his internship, Luke Marsiglia, a Penn State York EMET student, left, worked with different crew members of Alexander Building Construction Co., and had the opportunity to interact, ask questions, and be a part of the building project as it unfolded. Marsiglia, and Steve Adams, job site superintendent, Alexander, went over some of the plans for the student center, as the building neared completion.

Showing off his favorite spot in the new building, Luke Marsiglia, a student Penn State York who interned with Alexander Construction, Co. during the project, was impressed with the revitalization of the old gym and the blending of old and new throughout the entire Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center. The placing of a phrase from the "Penn State Alma Mater" on the gym wall was not quite complete, but is still impacting. Marsiglia is a junior majoring in electro-mechancical engineering technology and a student in The Graham Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies (The Graham Center) at Penn State York.
Current Penn State York students are invited to participate in an essay contest sponsored by the Penn State York Blue & White Society. Entries are being accepted through Oct. 24.
