Penn State York clinched the Penn State University Athletic Association (PSUAC) East conference title and a playoff spot during their "Pink Out" game against Penn State Brandywine on Thursday, Oct. 19. Members of the women's volleyball team and coaches wore pink prior to the game to help increase awareness about breast cancer.  The event raised $197 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Fall nominations for the Penn State York Advising Award are being accepted through Dec. 8.  Anne Vardo-Zalik, associate professor of biology, left, was the 2023 recipient and Stephen Foster, assistant professor of psychology and the 2022 recipient, presented the award to Vardo-Zalik and the awards program.

They discussed new opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration across Penn State and the commonwealth to empower technological and medical advancement.

The 2023 Invent Penn State Venture & IP Conference gathered more than 400 attendees, including 63 startups, 40 investors and 16 sponsors, working together to drive the efforts of entrepreneurs, researchers and others into the next phase of their businesses.

Mary Richardson, a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Penn State York, participated in the Student Startup Showcase at the Invent Penn State Venture & IP Conference. Her company, Bindr, is an all-inclusive dating app that provides a safe online space for bisexual individuals.
