Portraying Norma Desmond, Anne Vardo-Zalik, associate professor of biology at Penn State York, brought the house down with an amazing performance of "With One Look," from "Sunset Boulevard" at last year's Paw Search.  Paw Search 2018 is set for Jan. 12 with auditions scheduled for Dec. 1 from 1-4 p.m., and Dec. 4 from 4-8 p.m.  This event is a fundraiser for Penn State York Benefiting THON with proceeds going to help children and their families battling pediatric cancer.

Be committed and hold yourself accountable was advice from Becky Halstead, retired Brigadier General, United States Army, who shared her thoughts on leadership during a breakfast presentation entitled Inspiring Courageous Leadership on Nov. 8 at Penn State York.  The program was part of The Graham Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies Speaker Series, and was sponsored  by the center and BAE Systems.

Burness Awards for Excellence in Teaching are open through Nov. 25.   The 2016-17 recipients were Gene Ellis, left, part-time instructor in communication arts and sciences, and Orsay Kucukemiroglu, professor of business administration.  Kucukemiroglu retied June 30, 2017, and now has emeritus status.
