Penn State York Benefiting THON traveled to State College to participate in THON Weekend, Feb. 16-18 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania. Some former York THON members, now students in State College, came out to support the group.
Penn State York students broke the campus' fundraising record for THON. The group traveled to the Bryce Jordan Center to take part in THON Weekend 2024, Feb. 16-18, and supported dancers and celebrated the yearlong fundraising event in support of children and their families battling pediatric cancer.
Both the men's and women's basketball teams at Penn State York are headed to the quarterfinals in the Penn state University Athletic Conference (PSUAC).
In honor of Black History Month, an African Dance and Drum Workshop is being presented by the Dwennimmen African Dance Community at Penn State York. Participants will have the opportunity to learn dance techniques and discover the drums and instruments of the culture. The workshop is free and open to the public.
In celebration of Black History Month, the Dwennimmen African Dance Community is set to share their talents with an African Dance and Drum Workshop beginning at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Precision Custom Components (PCC) Community Room in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center at Penn State York.
Anne Vardo-Zalk, associate professor of biology, center, was the 2023 winner of the Penn State York Academic Advising Award. Stephen Foster, assistant professor of psychology and the 2022 advising award winner, right, presented the certificate to Vardo-Zalik with a little help from the Nittany Lion.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023-24 Penn State York Academic Advising Award. Students may submit nominations for the award, which is presented at the Academic Awards Program in April. The deadline for submissions is March 22.
The Penn State Alumni Association will continue its long-standing partnership with the College of Arts and Architecture to host the 2024 President’s Concert. The concert will feature talented students from the School of Music and is set for Saturday, March 23, at the Pullo Center in York. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., with a reception preceding the performance at 6 p.m.
