"Dragons and Mythical Beats" starts 2023 off with a show set for Jan. 14 at 4 p.m. featuring unicorns, monsters and other magical beasts.

Penn State York will celebrate fall commencement on Friday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus.  The ceremony is free and open to the public.

Penn State York will be closed for semester break beginning on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 5  p.m., and the campus will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.  Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Jan. 9.

Dom Sciortino, owner of the Barberama in York, left, pretends to cut the hair of his son, Dominic Sciortino, a Penn State York student and a member of the campus THON group.  A fundraiser is set for Black Friday with 20% of sales going to children battling pediatric cancer through THON.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022-23 James H. Burness Awards for Excellence in Teaching.  The Penn State York Nittany Lion, left,  presented Joan Smeltzer, assistant professor in mathematics, the teaching award for full-time faculty during the 2022 awards program.  Audra Weaver, adjunct lecturer in communication arts and sciences, not pictured, received the part-time faculty award.
