New Student Orientation: Student Life is an engaging and interactive day centered around new students getting to know each other, the campus, and what makes Penn State York special. Hear from Penn State students, faculty and staff, meet your academic adviser for the first time, and get excited about starting your Penn State journey! This program, on Friday, August 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., is required for all new students, including international and transfer students. International students have a weeklong orientation which includes Friday, August 18.

International New Student Orientation

International Student Orientation is a weeklong program beginning Monday, August 14 through Friday, August 18 for all new international students (first-year and transfer). This orientation program is mandatory. It is a week of completing important tasks including getting ID cards, document check-in, learning new information, registering for courses, and participating in fun activities.

Monday, August 14

8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Conference Center, Main Classroom Building

All students must arrive on campus by 8:30 am for the first day of orientation. Penn State provides transportation to campus from The Lofts, York Apartments, York Hills Apartments, Springettts Apartments, and Greenspring Apartments. Vans will come to the leasing office of these apartments beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Tuesday, August 15

8:30 a.m–4:00 p.m.
5:00–7:00 p.m.

Picnic in the park at John Rudy Park, catered by Big Bob’s BBQ, with transportation by Bailey Coach.

Wednesday, August 16 (optional)

Small group trips to stores (students can sign up on Tuesday).

Thursday, August 17

8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Friday, August 18

8:30 a.m.–3:40 p.m. (See schedule below for all students)

Saturday, August 19
