Lauren Clemens graduated on Friday, May 4 from Penn State York's accelerated bachelor of science degree program. The mixture of formats that the program offered allowed her to continue working full-time while earning a Penn State degree.

Explore science fiction this summer at Penn State York

Science fiction fans can take a course this summer at Penn State York that is sure to be interesting, fun, and can fulfill a requirement in English. Science Fiction (ENGL 191) meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9:30 p.m. and is part of the first six-week summer session at the campus, which begins May 14. The course is offered in a blended format with online and in-class instruction.

Four to receive Honorary Alumni Award from Penn State Alumni Association

Four longtime Penn State champions and benefactors will be recognized by the Penn State Alumni Association and receive the Honorary Alumni Award on June 1.

Integrative Studies Seed Grants awarded to faculty across University

The Office for General Education has announced this year’s seed grants to support the development of Integrative Studies courses. The awarded proposals are representative of a wide range of academic disciplines, and include proposals from faculty at Penn State campuses across the Commonwealth.

Each year, Penn State recognizes outstanding faculty and staff with annual awards in teaching and excellence. The invitation-only ceremony for the 2018 awards was Tuesday, April 3, at University Park.

Students achieve their goals despite adversity

When Rachel Patz and Jeff Parthree, both adult learners, cross the stage during Penn State York’s 17th annual fall commencement ceremony, set for 6 p.m. Dec. 15, there will be many people to thank, and a great deal of pride. Both Parthree and Patz have persevered through a variety of events in life, and will be reaching their goal of a Penn State degree.

Penn State’s NSF I-Corps program seeks applications by Sept. 15 and Oct. 15

The National Science Foundation has joined in supporting Penn State’s goal of taking more of its discoveries to market by awarding Penn State a five-year, $500,000 Innovation Corps (I-Corps) grant to establish the Invent Penn State I-Corps Site in collaboration with Ben Franklin Technology Partner’s TechCelerator, Happy Valley LaunchBox, and Invent Penn State’s Innovation Hubs.
