Spend A Summer Day

Josh Wolgamuth, Penn State York student and Lion Ambassador, leads a tour during the Spend a Summer Day Program last year.  Spend a Summer Evening is set for July 17 from 6-9 p.m., and Spend a Summer Day takes place July 24 from 9 a.m.-noon.  The programs are free.

This workshop really stinks! "Marine Science Explorations: How is a Squid Able to Survive in the Ocean" is one of the most popular, and smelliest, workshops offered at "Pathways to Your Future: Exploring STEAM Careers" at Penn State York. The seventh-grade girls involved in this career-awareness program can attend three workshops and learn more about opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Penn State York has been offering this program for 22 years. This year's program is set for May 11.

Late-Night Breakfast theme is super heroes and super villains

Is that Spiderman, Joker, Wonder Woman, Magneto, Batman, and Lex Luther in line at Rosie’s for the Late-night Breakfast at Penn State York? Attendees are encouraged to dress-up as their favorite super hero or super villain from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, April 30 at this popular end-of-semester event. This free event will be held at Rosie’s in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center. Late-night breakfast is for members of the Penn State York community.

Jason Washington, a Penn State York student majoring in information sciences and technology (IST),  was all about last year's Late-night Breakfast theme of dressing up as a favorite musical artist or musical genre.  This year's theme is super heroes and super villains, and is set for Monday, April 30 from 7:30-930 p.m.   In addition to food, those in attendance will enjoy some entertainment and a time to socialize.

Spring student art show continues through May 4 at Penn State York

The artwork of 11 Penn State York students is featured on the mezzanine levels of the campus’ Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) during the spring art show which continues through May 4. Twenty-five original pieces are displayed in the show. The exhibit is sponsored by the Penn State York Visual Arts Club.

The spring student art show sponsored by the Visual Arts Club at Penn State York is on display through May 4 on the mezzanine levels of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus.  Works by Nicholas Pullo, a student from York, Pennsylvania, are a part of the 25-piece show.  "Off the Wall,"left, and "Drained," right, are on display but not for sale.

Penn Players take to the stage with 'The 9 Worst Breakups of All Time'

The Penn Players will present the one-act farce “The 9 Worst Breakups of All Time,” by Ian McWethy, at 6 p.m. April 18 and 19 in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at Penn State York. The performances are free and open to the public, and tickets are not required.

Laureates of York Vito Grippi

Poet Laureate of York, Pennsylvania, Vito Grippi, will visit campus April 5, along with three of the city's previous laureates, for a noon-hour program featuring lively poetry readings and discussion. The program, in the Lee R. Glatfelter Library on campus, is free and open to the public.

Penn State Laureate Andrew Belser will present his innovative and award-winning multimedia exhibition, “FaceAge,” at Penn State York from April 9-13 in the conference center of the Main Classroom Building. The program is open to the campus community and the general public.
