Moved by the George Floyd tragedy and racial unrest in 2020, leaders in the Penn State York SGA wanted to find a way to bring students together to have safe and critical conversations about how to be an antiracist. The book club was born out of this idea, and a decision was made to provide a free copy of the book, “How to Be an Antiracist,” to interested students.
Helping people in need in the local community is the goal of some student groups at Penn State York. A donation drive for nonperishable food and hygiene items is under way until Nov. 20.
Raising awareness about child abuse, human trafficking, and sexual assault is the goal of a candlelight vigil and program set for March 4 at Penn State York. The program, at noon, includes a speaker, the Red Sand Project, and a candlelight vigil.
Dancing for those they lost to cancer, and in hope of finding a cure, Paige Barlow, Alvin Chen and Jen Taylor, will represent Penn State York Benefiting THON at the big dance, THON, on Feb. 21-23 at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus.
Check out the robots in action when the First Tech Challenge qualifiers take place at Penn State York on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 18 and 19. Teams from Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and all across Pennsylvania will compete.
