Penn State York’s men’s baseball team had to win against Penn State Worthington Scranton in order to advance to the playoffs in the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC). The team needed to win one of two games in a doubleheader on April 26. Not only did they win one, York swept the doubleheader and clinched the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Division of the PSUAC.
Penn State York's baseball team fought a hard battle against Penn State Mont Alto at PeoplesBank Park in York, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, April 22. The game was called at the end of the fifth inning and York lost 3-2. Luckily, York swept their two games against Penn State Worthington Scranton on April 26 to clinch the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Division of the PSUAC, and head to the playoffs.
Krista Searfoss, Casey Dierdorff and Mary Inyang Cobham, left to right, took a break from studying to enjoy Late-night Breakfast in December. With plenty of free food and fun, the event is held at the end of each semester and provides a time for students to relax and be served by members of the faculty, administration and staff. The spring Late-night Breakfast is set for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 1, in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community center.
Summer classes offer students a chance to get ahead for fall, catch up on classes, or just get started. The first summer session begins May 15 and continues through June 23, while the second summer session begins June 28 and runs through Aug. 9.
Penn State York will celebrate its 47th annual spring commencement at 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at the campus. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Shannon McCully, manager, industrial engineering, supporting global marketing and sales at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts in Orlando, Florida, is the commencement speaker.

Shannon McCully is a manager, industrial engineering, supporting global marketing and sales at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts in Orlando, Florida, and is the commencement speaker at Penn State York. A 1996 graduate of Penn State with a bachelor of science in industrial engineering, McCully began her career with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts in June 1996, just a month after graduating from the University.
Summer is s good time for students to take courses that they may not wish to schedule with a full course load in fall or spring. Penn State York offers two six-week summer sessions designed to help students make the summer count.
