Bleeding was a good thing at Penn State York Aug. 25

Penn State York students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community turned out in droves for the Penn State York/Fox 43 Community Blood Drive with the American Red Cross on Thursday, Aug. 25 at the campus.

Writer shares his life experiences through original work

Joseph Bathanti, a poet, novelist and professor, will share some of his experiences as a Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) worker in southern prisons, when he gives a poetry reading of his original work on Sept. 15 at Penn State York. The reading, set for 12:05 p.m. in the Lee R. Glatfelter Library, is free and open to the public.

New student center to open Oct. 12 at Penn State York

Excitement is mounting across campus at Penn State York, as the much-awaited grand opening of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center is set for noon on Oct. 12. The ceremony will take place in the new plaza area behind the John J. Romano Administration Building and The Ruhl Center, and is open to students, faculty, staff and invited guests. The building is opening after a $13.5 million renovation and addition.

This photo is not an artist's rendering, it is the real thing.  Penn State York's Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center's grand opening is on Oct. 12.  The Ruhl Center is the heart of student activities and athletics on campus, and the renovations to the existing building, along with the addition, provides much needed space for the campus community.

Landscapers put the finishing touches on the area outside a portion of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center at Penn State York in preparation for the grand opening celebration on Oct. 12.  The $13.5 million building renovation and addition began more than a year ago.
