Candlelight Vigil York

Deb Harrison, director of the York County Children’s Advocacy Center, spoke during the candlelight vigil last year at Penn State York sponsored by the Penn State York Council on Family Relations (PSY-CFR), a student club. The vigil this year is set for 4 p.m. March 30 in the Conference Center on the lower level of the Main Classroom Building. Members of the CFR Club, and other students majoring in human development and family students (HD FS) will speak. The event is free and open to the public.

Penn State York students and recent alumni can take part in Career Week, March 27-31, at the campus. A variety of activities are planned throughout the week to help students hone their career networking skills. The Career Networking Event, pictured here, is an excellent opportunity for participants to gain networking experience.

Dancers work hard to learn all the movements for the line dance and the lyrics that go with the music. The line dance is an iconic part of THON Weekend and dancers on the floor as well as supporters in the stands take part in it throughout the 46-hour dance marathon.

York Baseball 2017

The 2017 Penn State York men's baseball team is headed to spring training in Florida during spring break, March 5-10.  The team will practice and play a few games to help sharpen their skills for the start of the regular season.

Campus to host York County Science and Engineering Fair March 6-8

Penn State York will host the 34th annual York County Science and Engineering Fair from March 6-8 in the Conference Center of the Main Classroom Building. About 200 projects will be judged during the event. Projects are open for public view from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on March 8.

Watch the bridges come crashing down during the annual Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers Bridge Building Competition on March 4 at Penn State York. The competition begins at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center.

Emily Colon, No. 3, earned honorable mention honors from the PSUAC for the 2016-17 women's basketball season. Terri Van Slyke, head women's basketball coach at Penn State York, said that Colon has a passion for the game that is evident in her play.

Lucas Jewell, No. 12, earned All-PSUAC second team honors for his work on the court during the 2016-17 men's basketball season. Coach Parrish Petry called Jewell the engine that ran the team. The Penn State York senior is from Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

TRENT Thomas PSUAC Honors

Trent Thomas, No. 10, earned All-PSUAC first team honors for his outstanding play during the 2016-17 men's basketball season. Parrish Petry, head men's basketball coach, called Thomas a scoring machine. His fierce play throughout the season contributed to the team's 15-1 conference record.
