Penn State York named 'Military Friendly School'

Penn State York has once again been named a Military Friendly School, by Victory Media, the leader in successfully connecting the military and civilian worlds. This is the third consecutive year York has earned this designation in recognition of their outstanding work with veterans.

Penn State York will honor the veterans on campus during a lunch on Nov. 11 — Veterans Day — in the rehearsal room of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center. Faculty, staff and students are invited to show their support for veterans, enjoy a free lunch, and hear from a panel of military veterans about their experiences.

Get ready for the new SAT with prep course at Penn State York

Penn State York’s SAT preparation course is designed to help high school students prepare for the new SAT, which begins in March 2016. The four-session course will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays beginning Jan. 23 in Room 112 of the Edward M. Elias Science Building.

York students plan dramatic reading of King's 'I Have a Dream' speech

Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech is regarded as one of the most powerful speeches in history. Six Penn State York students will do a dramatic reading of King’s famous speech at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 4 in the conference center at Penn State York. The program, sponsored by the Penn State York Black Student Union and the campus diversity committee, is free and open to the public.
