The 11th annual clay shoot to benefit Penn State York Athletics is set for Wednesday, May 1, at Central Penn Sporting Clays in Wellsville, Pennsylvania. Brandon Short, Penn State Board of Trustees member and former Penn State Nittany Lion and NFL linebacker, is the celebrity guest.
Penn State York will honor its student athletes at the annual Sports Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18. The banquet will take place on the stage at the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) on campus.
Penn State York will take on Penn State Brandywine in a doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at PeoplesBank Park in downtown York. PeoplesBank Park is home to the York Revolution, a member of the independent Atlantic League. The game is free and open to the public.
Networking is the key when it comes to finding a job that ultimately leads to a career. Penn State York students and alumni who graduated in the past five years have the opportunity to network with business professionals, many of whom are Penn State alumni, in a variety of career fields, including business, engineering, business, government, health care, human services, and law, during the annual Career Networking Event on March 28.
Penn State York students in the human development and family studies program will be conducting research and helping at stations during the second annual Diabetes Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, on campus.
A second session of the Self-Defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange Course Program for Women is being offered from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Penn State York. The free course is being offered by the Penn State York Police and Public Safety Department.

Cheryl Bonner, director of Alumni Career Services at Penn State, will share advice and resources for building those relationships during a presentation titled "How to Optimize Networking by Building Stronger Relationships" on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Penn State York. The free program, which is open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. in the Precision Custom Components (PCC) Community Room in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center on campus.
Cyberattacks are on the rise and businesses and organizations are looking for ways to keep their networks safe and secure. Penn State York’s Fundamentals of Cybersecurity program is designed to introduce the basic concepts of cybersecurity to new and emerging information technology professionals. The six-week course meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 26 to April 2, and is $595.
It is cold outside, but it is the perfect time to think summer classes at Penn State York. Two six-week sessions offer students the opportunity to take day, evening, or online classes, and still have an opportunity to enjoy summer. Some classes may also combine online with face-to-face instruction.
