York Campus Advisory Board Scholarly Activity Grant

Grants for research, scholarly activity, projects that contribute to improvement of academic programs at Penn State York. May include seed grants (e.g., travel to collections, data collection, instrument development, exploratory data analysis), released time from teaching, purchase of research materials, research assistance, assistance with publication of major books, travel to conferences, and similar activities. Grants typically range from $250.00 to $2,000.00. The grant application and instructions are found in the Academic Affairs folder on Angel.

  • All full-time faculty, including fixed term (FT1, FTM), other non tenure-track, and tenure-track faculty
  • Adjunct faculty (FT2)

March 10, 2017

Following May 2017 Advisory Board Meeting

Professional Development Grant (PDG)

Intended as a source of financial support for the developmental activities of non-tenure system faculty at Penn State York. Intended to support faculty in efforts to stay current within their discipline. Illustrative examples: attending workshops, invited presentations, attending conferences, experimenting with new teaching approaches, conducting research or appropriate scholarly activities, creating new artistic products. Typical awards do not exceed $500.00. The grant application and instructions are found in the Academic Affairs folder on Angel.

  • All full-time faculty on fixed term (FT1, FTM) or non tenure-track appointments
  • Adjunct faculty (FT2)

March 24, 2017

Award Granted:
Not later than July 1, 2017

Teaching Development Grant (TDG)

Intended to provide a source of financial support for the instructional activities of full-time faculty at Penn State York. Intended to improve classroom instruction and enhance the quality of teaching and learning. Illustrative project examples: development of a web site, traveling to a pedagogical conference, developing (alone or in a team) a new course or series of courses, developing a study abroad experience, experimenting with new teaching approaches, designing a blended module, purchasing books or software. Typical awards do not exceed $500.00. The grant application and instructions are found in the Academic Affairs folder on Angel.

  • All full-time faculty, including fixed term (FT1, FTM), other non tenure-track, and tenure-track faculty)

Award Granted:
Not later than July 1, 2017

Pullo Family Fund Grant

Provide financial assistance to Penn State York faculty members who are engaged in or propose to be engaged in innovative, technology-based, learner-centered teaching. All proposals must contain an element of collaboration between the York campus faculty member and a York area secondary school teacher. Grants typically range up to approximately $2,000.00.
